Barcelona to Host Historic Game at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in domestic competition 30 months after they moved out so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside as per the current authorization. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.
Stadium Testing
Barcelona held an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. Officials stated they were hoping for permission by UEFA to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
