Chiefs State They Are Aware of Alleged Abuse Claims Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete

The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening stating they are aware of claims of abuse circulated in online accounts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the NFL.

The team omitted the name of Rice specifically in their statement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Allegations Posted on Instagram

The woman, who likewise did not name Rice directly, posted a set of images on social media that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She stated the person involved was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has kids with Rice, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.

No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.

Rice missed the first six games of this season due to an league-mandated ban for his involvement in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in several individuals injured. He was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.

On the field, he finished the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
