Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025's Golden Joystick Awards
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards took place on Thursday, and with a remarkable show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. The standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive secured the esteemed Ultimate Game of the Year award, along with honors for Superb Storytelling and Excellence in Visuals.
Adding to the developer's triumph, its talented performers also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English won Top Lead Actor for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Supporting Performance Award for his work as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive itself received Top Studio. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its developers achieved 7 awards throughout the event.
Additional notable winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which won Top Sound Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and Premier PC Title. Worth mentioning, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the audience, with only four awards—Critics' Pick, Rising Star, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamer Selection—decided by critics.
