The rising star maintains substantial online presence
Kai Trump can count on multiple prominent supporters when she begins her LPGA debut on Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who is related to a former US president, was granted a special exemption to compete at the Annika competition in the Sunshine State.
The former president, an avid golfer, operates several international courses and regularly matches against his granddaughter.
"He's fairly competent. I can't reveal details but we have tight competitions," she stated.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, who cannot attend, advised her: "Just stay calm."
"My grandpa essentially suggested to play and enjoy myself," she continued.
"From my perspective, he's simply a regular grandfather. He can't make it this weekend. He's occupied with presidential duties, so he's rather occupied."
Being non-professional, the golfer has participated in only three events in 2024 and maintains the 461st position in AJGA rankings.
However she can receive tips from golf legend, who is dating her mother.
"He is the top athlete worldwide," Kai expressed.
"And he's a superior person. He advised me to go out there, have fun, following whatever happens."
Kai will face some of top competitors in women's golf at this tournament, including world number two the champion, British golfer Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
The LPGA commented that Kai's presence brings the sport to new audiences, especially with youth audiences.
The social media influencer maintains millions of followers and has started an exclusive apparel and wellness company.
The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
