Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday evening. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
Joshua had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his management team confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.
Honoring the Deceased
The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the passing of his two close friends.”
His release from the hospital arrives after the sports world had expressed condolences for the star in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
